News Facts Fitness club owner and operator Town Sports International (TSI) has deployed Oracle Database Appliance to provide a high-availability, easy-to-manage “solution in a box” for its application upgrade.
TSI needed a high-availability, high-performance platform to host its updated Oracle E-Business Suite applications, but wanted to avoid the complex and lengthy deployment timelines typically associated with integrating servers, networks, and storage from multiple vendors, as well as the costs and data center space requirements associated with such projects.
With the help of Cintra Software and Services, Inc., a Platinum level member in Oracle PartnerNetwork, TSI selected Cintra’s recommended architecture based on two Oracle Database Appliances with the virtualized platform, one for test and one for production, as the platform for its deployment of Oracle Database with Real Application Clusters, Oracle VM and Oracle E-Business Suite.
TSI’s Oracle Database Appliances are optimized to speed performance for Oracle E-Business Suite applications, delivering real-time intelligence into the company’s financials and inventory.
By deploying a complete, preintegrated package of hardware and software, TSI reduced upfront capital expenses and expects to significantly reduce ongoing IT maintenance tasks.
TSI will also benefit from the Oracle Database Appliance’s flexible capacity-on-demand licensing model, allowing the company to expand its database licenses based on current and projected demand while helping to ensure application and database redundancy.
Additionally, TSI has adopted Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c for proactive in-depth database monitoring and alerting.
